First off, I would like to admit that when I was first put on to this story I was turned off to the whole vampire thing. Don't get me wrong, I love a good vampire story, movie etc... but vampires in the Marvel Universe doesn't sit too well with me unless it's my homie Blade. None the less, within the first few pages of this issue I was was hooked. Kathryn Immonen (writer) did a great job by putting Jubilee in a unique situation that is totally out of her norm. By the time you finish reading this issue you will know that she isn't the Jubilee everyone is familiar with and you will find out how she copes with this change. The issue starts off with Jubilee quarantined due to her extreme taste for blood. Cyclops, Wolverine and Emma Frost are all looking after her until she begs to be released. Wolverine then looks after her in her journey to find out who she has really become. The bond between her and Wolverine is very well written. Many X-Men fans already are familiar with the father-daughter type of bond that they have and it is expressed even further in this issue. Like I said, this series is great and takes the whole vampire thing into a new direction. To add to everything, the art is superb! Phil Noto gives the cover a classy grown-up clean look that fits this series like a glove. There is really nothing negative about this issue, my only argument is that it's only a 4 part series. I think it should be extended a little longer but hey that's just me! Our rating system here is very easy... either it is a great read which is a rating of Geek It, or an issue that is okay but needs work which is a rating of Tweek It, or simply just horrible and recycle material and they can Keep It!!!! Overall Wolverine & Jubilee #1 can Geek It!!!!
